  1. CPH Job: C.I.O. (Chief Inspiration Officer)
  2. Grade: A+
  3. Autobiography: I'm a writer, artist, teacher, lower-case yogini, upper-case Mother, and would-be activist. I'm a divergent thinker with empathy to spare.
  4. Memo about writing: I believe that artmaking is meaningmaking. Artists take in, synthesize, distill, and create so that they and others can understand and interact with life in refreshing, evolving, and meaningful ways.
  5. Inspirations: Everything is an inspiration--from the wonderful to the difficult and everything in between. If you're looking for a "text", I think "Life in a Day" provides one compelling answer to the question.

  1. CPH Job: Editor Manager and Columnist for News You Can Use
  2. Grade: Senior
  3. Autobiography: Since I was little, I hated any subject except for English and History. I love being sustainable and educating people about Green Habits. I have 3 pets who happen to be called siblings.
  4. Memo about writing: I enjoy  writing because I have the ability to manipulate, persuade, or connect with the human audience. I can get creative and there's no perfect way of writing..as long as it makes sense for appropiate comprehension.
  5. Inspirations: Amos Tversky and Daniel Kahneman, Bill McKibben, John Muir, and Rachel Carson

  1. CPH Job: Free Lance Reporter
  2. Grade: Senior
  3. Autobiography: New Haven Native, 17, studies nihilism and creative writing with a focus in poetry. Son of Peruvian mother and Ecuadorian Father; loss of the usual urbanized interdistrict school structure.
  4. Memo about writing: The structuralization of words, sentences, paragraph and narrative are all extremely entertaining as well as captivating and that specified order is crucial to how the message or theme is portrayed.
  5. Inspirations: Chuck Palahniuk and Craig Clevenger

  3. Autobiography: am of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage. Although I was born in Springfield, I live New Haven, CT. Since middle school, I have always had an interest in writing and had opinion about what was going on around me. I believe in being a global citizen by being an active participant in society and taking it upon you to get first- hand knowledge.
  4. Memo about writing: I love writing because it gives you the ability to by lift the little invisible lines in what school has taught you, and it gives you the accessibility to the marketplace of ideas.
  5. Inspirations:  Everything is Illuminated, and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli, Eat. Pray. Love. by Elizabeth Gilbert, and Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut

  1. CPH Job: Free Lancer (or I write whatever tickles my heart and mind ^-^)
  2. Grade: Senior
  3. Autobiography:  I'm a tiny senior who has a history of going into (almost) disturbingly long laughing fits and who has a newfound tendency of drinking too much iced coffee.
  4. Memo about writing: Your writing acts as a resource. You can reference back to who you were at what specific point in time and you can keep track of your never-ending development. Reading other people's work is amazing and takes you out to a world that differs from your own mindset, and experiencing one interpretation after next of the same work is wondrous enough for me to almost consider it magical.
  5. Inspirations: I love any book by Mitch Albom, Jane Austen and John Green.

  1. CPH Job: I'm just doin' me
  2. Grade: Senior
  3. Autobiography: I think of myself as a extroverted loner. I’d feel like I’m by myself when I’m with others, so I’d just observe the group I’m with as I take part in group activity. I like to learn about myself through the people I associate myself with as well as learning when I’m actually alone. I spend my time playing guitar and singing to myself.
  4. Memo about writing: t’s my escape. Writing is how I say the unsaid, especially in an indirect way. Nothing affects me more than one’s actions and words. I take other people’s words very seriously and I sometimes incorporate actual memories into my writing. So basically, I write to tell my story and let go of the past.
  5. Inspirations:      none, yet.

  1. CPH Job: Free Lancer
  2. Grade: Senior
  3. Autobiography: I live in a family of 7 including my Italian Bull-Mastiff puppy. I’m impossible to shop with and I like experiencing new foods. I am 100% Italian and take pride in where I come from. My top priority is applying and getting into college. In the meantime, I’m managing AP courses, working as a hostess, and making time for my friends.
  4. Memo about writing: Writing will always be a small portion of who I am. It alleviates emotional stress that I go through from time to time. It helps organize my thoughts and ideas of where I’m going, what I’m doing and what I want. Writing becomes a free environment for me and that is what I like most about it. I get a liberating vibe to write more once I’ve already written a few sentences that I felt were strong.
  5. Inspirations: To be honest, none because in order to feel inspired, I would often run into other peoples’ situations or stories that were told to me that inspire my well-being and future decisions.

  3. Autobiography: I am 17 years old and live in Hamden, CT.

  5. Inspirational authors or books: none, yet.

  1. CPH Job: Manager for National  and International Section
  2. Grade: Junior
  3. Autobiography: I've (obviously) been in writing for the last few years.  I'm very interested in chiefly two topics: first of all, the state of national and international politics, and secondly, science!  Particularly certain biological fields.  If you need to know something about dinosaurs, ask me.
  4. Memo about writing: I like writing because it serves as a method of self-expression which has a few purposes.  First, it can stick around for as long as I want it to.  Secondly, I can go back and edit and change my writing so I can express what I want as clearly as I want to and as detailed as I want to.
  5. Inspirations: My favorite author of fiction is F. Scott Fiztgerald, who wrote great pieces like The Great Gatsby and Tender is the Night. Though, my favorite journalist is the late Christopher Hitchens, who argued his views and thoughts in a way that can't be matched by anyone I can possibly imagine.

  1. CPH Job: Free Lance Journalist and Violence Columnist
  2. Grade: Junior
  3. Autobiography: I am very passionate about getting my voice heard and thoughts out there. I also enjoy cooking and baking for others, but never sample my own food. I believe in minimizing violence at all cost as long as you don't fight back with violence.
  4. Memo about writing:  I enjoy writing because I'm good at expressing myself on paper rather than speech. Also because I am very self- conscious about my speech impediment so strive at writing.
  5. Inspiration: China Cup Carmen, Micky Rapkin, Black-Water, Mark Twain, Lee Child, Life about Life, and Death of the bees

  3. Autobiography: I live in  Connecticut  (obviously). I have a dog who I adore, and I LOVE to read. I embrace narcissism.
  4. Memo about writing: I like writing because I like the idea of my thoughts being heard and shared with others. My thoughts being heard helps me bond and connect with others that have  similar thought processes.

  4. Memo about writing:  I like to write because it allows me to use my voice in a direct way where people will listen.  The words are right there on the page, they can't be avoided.  It's also a way for me to learn about myself and others in a different way.
  5. Inspirations: The  Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

  1. CPH Job: Memorist
  2. Grade: Junior
  3. Autobiography: In this class it would seem that I'm quiet, but I'm really not. But I'm also shy about certain things. Otherwise, I'm a humorous, energetic, nice, and thoughtful person. I'll treat you the way you treat me.
  4. Memo about writing: I like writing because it's a way of expressing any emotion. Like, if you have something that you want to get off your chest so bad, you could just write about it. Also I like to write stories a lot; like realistic-fiction and somewhat fiction.
  5. Inspirations: I don't have any books or authors that are an inspiration to me.
