Mr. Sackett: In Loving Memory

What a lovely tribute, thank you. Mr. Sackett was the one person I work with who always made my job easier. He was always fixing things or making things better, and usually so fast, I barely had time to turn around and it was done! I only ever saw him friendly and smiling. I think that is how the whole school will remember him.

I echo Mrs. Willis's sentiment regarding the manner in which Chris went about solving problems. He always did so without making people feel silly for not knowing how to handle it themselves. On a scale of 1 to 10, my tech ability is 1...but I never felt bad about that because Chris was always willing to help, even with the relatively simple matters.

What a lovely tribute. I have been at Coop for over ten years and have watched Coop High School nearly double in size and flourish in every way-particularly true in our use of technology. Mr. Sackett played an important role in our school's current success and will leave behind wonderul memories and lessons for us all to reflect upon in years to come. Thank you Chris for your patience, kindness and friendship.

He was not only a computer wiz.(."O.K. Hope, what's wrong now??) but a very dear person who made so many connections in this building because he felt very much @ home here..It was always such a pleasure to see him, that I thought many times of just making up an excuse for him to drop by. God bless you, Chris, may you continue fixing God's Tech system and providing him with the calmness that he probably could use, as well.

Chris was awesome! His presence has already been missed for the weeks he was struggling with cancer, we were struggling with computers, and without any smiles. Computer problems have a way of making you want to tear your hair out, and Chris had a jovial spirit to counteract that. He always quick with a joke, or a wink, or a smile. He taught students how to avoid and fix baby problems themselves. His efforts were appreciated, his time with us cherished and he is sorely missed already.

Taylor's tribute is a mature and thoughtful piece of feature writing and I'm proud to have her represent my feelings. I just wanted to add that a lot of students didn't know Mr. Sackett because he went about his work stealthily when no one was in the classroom...he never wanted to disturb students or teachers while they were learning. He was a dear, sweet, smart, upbeat, quiet, calm presence and although his spirit will be missed here his energy will go on to enhance the heavenly universe. May he rest in peace.
